On June 22, AS Saue EPT and AS Oma Ehitaja signed a contract for the construction of a commercial building in Tule Street, Saue. A representative single-storey commercial building with a net area of approximately 3,000 square meters, suitable for the area, has been designed by the architectural firm Zeta OÜ. One larger and four smaller rental premises have been designed for the building. Prisma Peremarket will operate in the building as an anchor tenant. The construction completion date is autumn 2022.
Oma Ehitaja supports TalTech students
On May 26, in the hall of TalTech, the spring scholarships of the TalTech Development Fund for the spring of 2021 were presented to future engineers who excelled in study results. Oma Ehitaja has regularly supported engineering or master’s students in the field of civil engineering with a scholarship. This time, Thea Nigol, a 3rd year student of the Building Design and Construction Management curriculum of the Faculty of Engineering of TalTech, deserved a scholarship. We wish Thea stability and determination in her studies, and we hope to get a good addition to the ranks of Estonian civil engineers soon.
The winners of the annual project “Fix the volleyball courts 2021!” have been announced
Volleyball court building project “Fix the volleyball courts!” creates 10 volleyball courts across Estonia. With the help of the jury and volleyball fans, ten places have been chosen where brand new volleyball courts will be built next summer.
The six winners were chosen by a jury consisting of Kaido Fridolin, Chairman of the Management Board of Oma Ehitaja AS, Hanno Pevkur, President of the Estonian Volleyball Association, Helen Veermäe, Secretary – General of the Estonian Volleyball Association, Kert Toobal, Captain of the men’s national team and Rivo Vesik, one of the best beachball player in Estonia. During the referendum on Postimees website, the other four winners were revealed.
The winners are: MTÜ Rasina Külaarendamise Selts; SA Elva Kultuur & Sport; MTÜ Roela Kodukant; Pühajärve Basic School; Abruka Villa Ltd; MTÜ Pärnamäe Külaselts; Viljandi Jakobsoni School; Nasva village in Saaremaa; Kabli village in Pärnu county; Saulepi village in Pärnu county.
Over the years, the Estonian Volleyball Association, in cooperation with Credit24, Oma Ehitaja and the Tallinn Sports and Youth Board, has arranged and built 110 volleyball courts. This summer we will reach 120 courts. The construction company Oma Ehitaja will continue as a major supporter of the project, supplying the necessary equipment for arranging and assembling the squares.
Construction of Kesknõmme Kodu apartment buildings has started
Oma Ehitaja started the construction of new apartment buildings near the Nõmme center in Tallinn on the properties of Turu plats 2 / Vana Mustamäe 2. Instead of the gymnasium and workrooms of the former Police School, two 2-4-storey apartment buildings with height-varying volumes will be built, under which there is a parking floor. Commercial space open to the public will also be added to the building volume. The design of the acclaimed architect Indrek Suigussaar of the architectural firm Pluss is a cozy architectural solution that acts as a symbiosis of new and old.
Oma Ehitaja is also the developer of the townhouses to be built in one of the most valued residential areas of Tallinn. Most of the apartments have already found an owner by the beginning of construction. Residents can move to new homes by the summer of next year.
Oma Ehitaja will start building new apartment buildings for Pro Kapital Group
On February 3, 2021, AS Pro Kapital Grupp subsidiary OÜ Marsi Elu and Oma Ehitaja AS entered into an agreement for the construction of a residential complex consisting of three five-storey buildings in Kristiine City.
The construction of the Kindrali Houses will be carried out in two construction stages. With the first stage, two building complexes and parking facilities will be completed by the summer of 2022 at the latest.
The contemporary and Nordic architecture of Kindrali Houses will add lively downtown ambience to the Kristiine City’s garden-city atmosphere – here are tree-lined boulevard surrounding the houses, Brooklyn-like high first-floor homes or commercial premises that open directly onto the street and plenty of room to move. On the other hand, there is a private yet spacious courtyard between the houses with berry bushes, apple trees, cosy seating and play areas.
The architects of the Kindrali Houses are the Allianss Arhitektid and the interior architect is Galina Burnakova.

Oma Ehitaja will start building Uus Meremaa apartment buildings
On December 18, AS Oma Ehitaja and Liven Kodu 5 OÜ, a subsidiary of the real estate development company Liven, signed a general contract for the construction of five apartment buildings on Lahepea Street in Tallinn.
According to the plans a new residential area – Uus Meremaa – will be built on the edge of Merimetsa Park, near Stroomi beach. In the future there will be about 200 apartments in the five apartment buildings with a common underground parking floor designed by PIN Architects. Construction of the first houses will start at the beginning of next year, the apartments of the last house will be given to the customer in the spring of 2023.
With the concluded construction contract, professionals in their field will join forces for long-term cooperation to achieve a valuable whole for home buyers in a residential area of Uus Meremaa.
New 12-storey office building and square open in Ülemiste City
A brand new 12-storey office building has opened at Lõõtsa 1a in Ülemiste City. Both the building and the square next to it are named after renowned Estonian chemist Viktor Palm.
Gert Jostov, the chairman of the management board of Technopolis Ülemiste AS, says that the Palm building, parking station and square represent the company’s biggest project in recent years. “We’ve put a lot into them,” he said. “They also represent the first step in our next big stage of development. The building’s just been certified LEED Platinum as well, which means it’s as environmentally friendly as it can possibly be and that its management is really efficient.”
Designed by Koko architects and built by Oma Ehitaja AS, the new building has added 10,800 m2 of modern working space to Ülemiste City. Outside the building, Viktor Square comes with public seating and will be adorned in the new year with a fountain. The space will host a wide range of events.
The continued growth of Ülemiste City provides hope that in time it will become a suburb of Tallinn in its own right.

Oma Ehitaja will build a new store building in Tallinn
On the 15th of January AS Oma Ehitaja and LIDL Estonia OÜ signed a general contract for the construction of a new store on Rannamõisa Road in the Haabersti district of Tallinn. The author of the new shopping center project is ROK Projekt OÜ.
Oma Ehitaja will begin reconstruction works of the Government Office buildings in Toompea.
On the 9th of December a general construction contract was signed between Riigi Kinnisvara AS and Oma Ehitaja for the reconstruction of the buildings of the Government Office in Toompea on Rahukohtu Street.
The buildings under heritage protection are located in Tallinn’s Old Town. During the reconstruction works, the interior solutions and technical systems will be rebuilt on the basis of the new spatial program. The historic exterior of the buildings will be preserved. After the completion of the work, the Government Office will have approximately 5,000 square meters of modernized office space available for use in the two buildings.
Reconstruction work will begin at the end of this year and the completed buildings will be handed over to the customer in May 2021.

The Heritage Board awarded the prizes
Minister of Culture Tõnis Lukas presented letters of gratitude to the best in the field during the annual recognition of the National Heritage Board. The ceremony, held at the Free Lava Hall in Tallinn, 55 awards in 11 categories were awarded.
The Restoration of the Noblessner Shipyard and the Foundry also received recognition in the category of well restored monuments.

Volleyball court building project “Fix the volleyball courts!” creates 10 volleyball courts across Estonia
In co-operation with Oma Ehitaja this summer the Estonian-wide project “Fix the volleyball courts!” will take place again and 10 volleyball courts will be established across Estonia.
In the past eight years, the project “Fix the volleyball courts!” has organized and established 90 volleyball courts in cooperation with Credit24, Oma Ehitaja and Tallinn Sports and Youth Department.
As a major supporter of the project, the construction company Oma Ehitaja will continue to provide the necessary facilities for the maintenance and completion of the courts. This summer 100 courts will be reached, perfect for celebrating the 100th anniversary of Estonian volleyball.

Kalev Spa is open for visitors
Kalev Spa reopened its water park and sports centre after thorough and complete renovation.
In the course of the renovation and construction project, the water park was thoroughly overhauled and received an entirely new look, from the locker rooms to the swimming pools. The water park got new attractions, a relaxation pool, saunas and whirlpool bathtubs. The children’s training and water aerobics pools and the baby pool was renovated in their entirety.
The popular 50-metre pool with the unique-to-Estonia diving towers remained available for athletes and amateur swimmers in all its glory. A quiet spa and relaxation area is opened as a completely new feature. There partial mezzanine was built in the water park with new and spacious premises of the sports centre.
During construction, 22 new rooms of the superior class was added to the hotel with views of the Old Town and park. New and spacious restaurant with an exciting menu and terrace with a panoramic view of the Kanuti Garden is now opened for all visitors. The renowned beauty and wellness centre got more private and cosy premises in the middle of the hotel.
The Cornerstone of the New 12-Storey Office Building Was Set in Ülemiste City
The cornerstone of the new 12-storey office building was set in Ülemiste City. The building located at Sepapaja 1 and named after famous Estonian chemist Viktor Palm will be ready in May 2020. The architectural design created by KOKO architects will be built by Oma Ehitaja AS.
The office building and car park will be linked by a gallery, with an entrance to the parking station from Suur-Sõjamäe Street. In addition to holding more than 540 cars, the car park will feature two areas for parking and securing bicycles. The southern side of the new office building will also feature a square with flagpoles, a fountain and places to sit.

The Cornerstone of Mustjõe Home was placed
On the January 18th the Cornerstone of Mustjõe Home was placed.
By the end of the year, three new unique apartment buildings will be built to the immediate surroundings of Rocca al Mare and Stroomi beach.

The winners of the year’s annual architectural awards issued by the Estonian Cultural Endowment, the Estonian Association of Architects, the Estonian Landscape Architects’ Union were announced.
The Estonian Cultural Endowment’s Architecture Foundation Award was hand over to the Estonian Film Museum’s architecture, interior architecture and outdoors.

The whole-family discovery centre where you can re-discover, experience and create centuries-old techniques through virtual reality will open its doors in the large hall of the Noblessners Foundry.
For the first time, the 1400 m2 blackbox with a special atmosphere will be open for public use, which will be ideal for both cultural and corporate events.
Noblessner’s Foundry is the magnificent example of the historical industrial building with spectacular architecture and exceptional acoustics. “Over the past eight years, world-class concert performances have been made in the spotlight. We believe that the combination of the fascinating history of the building and the modern discovery centre will create a special atmosphere, and Noblessner’s Foundry will become an attractive place for both tourists and local residents,” said Ivar Piirsalu, BLRT Group Real Estate Development Director.
The total cost of renovating Noblessner’s foundry is 7.37 million. Enterprise Estonia supports the project with 2.39 million euros financed from the European Regional Development Fund.
The restoration project was prepared by KAOS Architects, OMA Ehitaja AS is engaged in renovation work and construction. The creator of the exhibition to be is the Motor Agency.

Oma Ehitaja will build a 12-storey office building to Ülemiste City campus
September, 26 the construction contract between AS Oma Ehitaja and Technopolis Ülemiste AS entered into force to build a new office building for Ülemiste City.
Technopolis Ülemiste AS will build a 12-storey office building, a five-storey parking house and adjacent square at Sepapaja 1. The parking house is due for completion by the end of 2019 and the office building by spring 2020.
Construction at Sepapaja 1 will substantially change the appearance of Ülemiste City. The office block and parking house will form the business park’s “gateway buildings”, situated close to two of its key entrances: Suur-Sõjamäe and Lõõtsa streets. Together they will become an important landmark for anyone approaching Ülemiste City from the direction of Lasnamäe and city centre.
The new 12-storey office building will have a rentable area of 10,800 m². It will have a recognisably big-city appearance, marked out by its expansive, gradually sloping glass facade. At the heart of the building will be its high-ceilinged 1st floor, featuring a foyer and reception desks, and with space for catering and commercial premises. The southern side of the office building will also feature a square with flagpoles, a fountain and sitting spaces. With it the centre of Ülemiste City will shift even more towards this part of the campus.
Office building and parking house will be linked by a gallery, with entrance to the parking station from Suur-Sõjamäe Street. In addition to holding more than 540 cars, the parking house will feature an area for parking and securing bicycles.

Historical Noblessner shipyard and foundry will be reconstructed by Oma Ehitaja
On the 12th of June BLRT Grupp, Noblessner Park and Oma Ehitaja signed a contract for the reconstruction of the historical Noblessner shipyard and foundry. This historical building complex is part of the heritage of Tallinn’s industrial architecture. At the beginning of the 20th century Noblessner was one of the most important submarine production centers of the Russian Empire.
The complex of buildings will be restored into a place for diverse cultural events such as theatre, music and other temporary events like fairs and exhibitions. The architectural design for renovations is by KAOS Architects Ltd. A public multifunctional exposition space is planned for the building with the aim of attracting visitors not only from the Noblessner quarter but from all over Tallinn and Estonia, as well as other countries. A magnificent family-center to be buillt into the foundry will be focusing, among other things, on the last word of technology – virtual reality. The center’s goal is not just entertainment-related but also educational.
The construction work will commence immediately and the restored complex opens the doors for visitors in the summer of 2019.
Enterprise Estonia supports the project with 2.4 million euros financed from the European Regional Development Fund.
Volleyball court building project “Fix the volleyball courts!” will be held for the eighth time
Project “Fix the volleyball courts!” is initiated to ensure that everyone interested can actively engage in sports in the open air. This year, the Estonian Volleyball Federation, in cooperation with the city of Tallinn and the construction company Oma Ehitaja, restores eleven volleyball courts in Tallinn and its neighborhood
In the previous seven years of operation for the project, 80 new volleyball courts have been built in different areas of Estonia where it is now possible to play sports on beautiful summer nights in great company.
This year, eleven newly refurbished squares will be added, including four in Pirita, four on the Stroomi beach, one in Kakumäe, one in Harku and one on the Pikakari beach.

Oma Ehitaja Engineering and Master Study Scholarship
The results of The TTU Development Fund grantees 2018 are revealed.
The Festive ceremony of scholarships awarding took place on 30 May in the TTU Festive Hall where The Oma Ehitaja engineering and master’s programme scholarship was hand over to Maarja Pitsi, a student of integrated studies at TTÜ’s School of Engineering.
The renovated Maarjamäe castle is open to visitors
On the 14th February, the freshly renovated Maarjamäe castle was ceremonially opened.
The President of the Republic of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, also took part in the ceremonial opening of the History Museum.
A grand exhibition “My free country” awaits visitors to the museum at Maarjamäe castle, to take them on an exciting journey from the birth of the Republic of Estonia to the present day. Hands-on activities allow visitors to take part in every era of history themselves.
“The Republic of Children” awaits children in the museum. This playful learning environment certainly offers many interesting moments for the little ones but also for slightly bigger history lovers.

Laagri Selver now officially opened
On the 14th December, the ceremonial opening of the shopping centre located in Pääsküla, Pärnu mnt. was held. 554. The owner of the shopping centre is EfTEN Real Estate. Fund III AS acquired the company developing the real estate Projekt 554 OÜ from Oma Ehitaja in June this year. With the whole area of 6 696 square meters from which there are 3 077 square meters of rental space, the anchor lessee is Selver AS. In addition to Selver, there will also be smaller rental spaces to fulfil the everyday needs of customers (Subway sandwich cafe, a pharmacy, flower shop, pet shop and other smaller rent spaces etc.). The important aspects of the centre are the public transportation proximity, convenient traffic scheme and sufficient amount of parking spaces from which 100 are located in the 2 800 square meter underground parking lot.
The construction work was started in February 2017 and the completed building was handed over to the client at the agreed upon deadline in November.
Oma Ehitaja turned the new office and headquarters building over to Elering AS
On the 1st December Oma Ehitaja turned over the new headquarters and office building located in Tallinn, Kadaka 42 to the client to move in. The new three-storey 3 645 square meter net area office building is environmentally friendly and a nearly zero-energy building with the energy class level A. In addition to the energy efficient technical solutions, solar panels and the use of rainwater in restrooms, passive sun protection methods have also been used during the planning of the building. The working environment designed for the building is friendly, comfortable and inspiring and its functionality and hard lines are inspired by the client. Since the building also houses the headquarters of Elering, special attention has been paid to security.

The new family dormitory of Tallinn University of Technology was completed
AS Oma Ehitaja turned over the nearly zero-energy reconstructed family dormitory to the Tallinn University of Technology. The scientific reconstruction of the building was unique both in the Baltic states as well as the Northern countries. The building was designed by TTÜ for the reconstruction of the same type of buildings built in Estonia nearly 50 years ago. The biggest challenge of the project was the use of factory-manufactured module panels on wooden frames in both the construction of the external walls and the roof of the building. In the reconstructed dormitory, there is a ventilation system with heat recovery, solar collectors for heating the water, wastewater heat recovery and solar panel system that provides energy efficiency on a near zero-energy level. The construction scientists of Tallinn University of Technology also participated In the building’s reconstruction project. They conducted research during the reconstruction of the building and will analyse the functioning of the constructional physics of its facade and the inner climate of the building and also its energy-efficiency after the completion of the building when it is put to use.
Located at Akadeemia tee 5A, the dormitory built in 1986 was the last unreconstructed dormitory at TTÜ’s campus. In the new energy-efficient apartment building there are 70 1-room and 10 2-room apartments. The average area of the 1-room apartments is 36,5 m² and the area of the 2-room apartments 52,7 m²
Oma Ehitaja has built a new shopping centre in Tallinn
31.03.2017 Oma Ehitaja AS and Projekt 554 OÜ. signed a planning and building employment contract for building a shopping centre located at Pärnu mnt. 554 in Tallinn between Pääsküla and Laagri. The area of the centre is 6,280 square meters including a 100-space car park on the underground floor of the building. The biggest commercial space – 2,626 square meters – will be used by Selver. In addition to Selver, the centre will have many other smaller rental spaces (restaurants, a pet shop, a pharmacy, eco products, etc.). The opening of the shopping centre has been planned to take place at the end of 2017.
