TUT library construction starts

On the 30th of January Tallinn University of Technology and Oma Ehitaja signed a general contracting agreement to build a new library for TUT. According to project made by Agabus, Endjärv Truuverk Arhitektid OÜ architecture office, a 6-storey representative library building will be constructed on TUT Campus area, beside a new Economics Faculty building. On 5 ground storeys reference rooms, reading rooms, office rooms for service personnel, bookstore, cafe and rooms for student organizations are designed. On the 6th floor there are necessary technical rooms for the building to function. On the underground floor there are underground parking and book storage rooms. The new library building’s closed net area is 10650 m2 in all. Building construction works will begin immediately and according to the contract the new library will be ready in the summer of 2009.
