Eesti Kontsert will reconstruct former home of song leader Gustav Ernesaks

On April 7th 2009, RE Eesti Kontsert and AS Oma Ehitaja signed a build contract for the reconstruction of an apartment building into a guesthouse of Eesti Kontsert, on Oru str. 10, Tallinn.

The apartment building was originally built in the 1950s for the composer and choir master Gustav Ernesaks. According to the contract, the building will be reconstructed and the surrounding ground will be spruced up, while preserving the cosines and original design that was characteristic to the owner and that era. Interior decoration will retain characteristics of the era while mixing with ethnical interior elements. After completion the building will also house a department of the Estonian Music Museum and the exhibits on display should convey the presence of the Estonian song leader.

Construction project is designed by architects Luhse  &amp*** Tuhal OÜ, author of interior design is Mareliis Raid.

According to the contract the old house should have its new look and all the work should be done by the end of August.
